Chegámos a Coimbra por volta das 11 e 30h. O primeiro objectivo estava cumprido: chegar cedo para arranjar um bom lugar para estacionar e almoçar nas calmas. Conseguimos um lugar mesmo em frente à porta 5A que, chatice das chatices, até era a nossa e rumámos para o almoço. Todos concordámos que o almoço devia ser bem servido, e depois se nos desse a fome para o jantar ficávamos bem com um cachorro já dentro do estádio. No Bai-à-Lota, por 6 euros cada um tivemos direito a: pão, azeitonas, sopa, prato de carne ou peixe e fruta! Muito fixe, com um ar muito moderno mas com uma comidinha caseira muito boa, e o preço também ajudou! Sim, onde é que em Lisboa se almoça isto tudo por este preço?!

Almoço terminado e era a hora certa de ir para a porta do estádio, não estava muita gente, para aí umas 80 pessoas à nossa frente. Ainda deu para tirar uma soneca e ouvir umas musiquinhas, assim como que uma preparação para o que estava para vir! As duas horas passaram num instante e a fila começou a movimentar-se. Todas as mochilas estavam a ser revistadas ao pormenor, e garrafas e comida não entraram. Para não variar, a minha sorte com as filas também deu um ar da sua graça, a gaja que estava à minha frente, para além de ter um ar bimbo com umas calças que lhe chegavam às mamas, levava a vida dela mais a das amigas dentro da mochila e a revista demorou à vontade uns 5 minutos. Já o P. a M. e o C. tinham entrado ao tempo e eu com umas trombas descomunais atrás da criatura, que teimava em fazer perguntas e mais perguntas ao segurança. A minha pequena bolsa de cintura foi revistada ao milímetro e só depois, já dentro do estádio, é que me dei conta que o gajo tinha estado a mexer num o.b. que por lá andava! Azar! Assim que passei pelo segurança parecia que me tinha dado a travadinha, nunca corri tão depressa na minha vida, os degraus foram subidos dois a dois, ou até mesmo, três a três e depressa cheguei ao relvado. No meio da minha corrida ouvia os seguranças dizer: formem uma fila por aqui. Por momentos esqueci-me que as primeiras 800 pessoas iam ficar no meio do palco, e quando voltei de novo a mim e me dei conta que EU ia para ali fiquei histérica, o coração começou a bater a 200 mil à hora, e assim que entrei lá para dentro, já marcada com uma pulseirinha roxa, a primeira coisa que fiz, com a voz a tremer, foi ligar para a minha mãe: mãe, estou praticamente dentro do palco! O segundo objectivo estava cumprido: entrar cedo para ficar dentro do palco.

Aqui a espera ia ser de duas horas para os Fingertips, e três para o GM, mas nada disso nos assustava. Estávamos ali de pedra e cal prontíssimos para o concerto das nossas vidas. A chuva ameaçava cair, mas não passou disso, uns pinguitos caíram, mas nem deu para molhar. Às 8 horas entraram os Fingertips para 45 minutos de música. Passou depressa. A espera pior foi das 8 e 45h até às 22h (supostamente deveria ter sido só até as 21 e 30h), até que as luzes se apagaram. Ia começar o concerto pelo qual esperei 20 anos!

Eis que na primeira música, quando se ouve So here I am, uma porta se abre no meio do ecran gigantesco e aparece a figura mais desejada da noite. E que voz! Que figura! Que presença! Com um fato preto e os habituais óculos escuros dançou e percorreu as extremidades do palco e a passadeira que entrava pela plateia, mesmo ali ao lado! Nunca estive tão à vontade num concerto. Onze temas fizeram a primeira parte, e no último Shoot the Dog, um enorme boneco insuflável começa a surgir no palco. Era nem mais nem menos que George W. Bush, que se fazia acompanhar dum cão com uma trela e uma bandeira britânica representando o primeiro-ministro Tony Blair.

A segunda parte foi dedicada a alguns temas mais conhecidos e a cada música havia explosões de cor no mega ecran, efeitos visuais brutais que ajudaram a um grande espectáculo. Para o encore, após duas horas de música e 18 temas, ficou Careless Wisper e Freedom que tal como ele mesmo disse, é a coisa mais importante do momento. No dia em que o pai fazia anos, o terceiro objectivo estava cumprido: assistir ao concerto pelo qual esperei a minha vida toda!

George Michael, cujo verdadeiro nome é Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou, nasceu a 25 de Junho de 1963 em Londres. Desde pequeno sempre demonstrou muito talento como cantor. Teve algumas bandas enquanto estudante até ao ano de 1982, quando passou a fazer parte dos Wham.

Esteve à frente desta formação durante 4 anos, obtendo um sucesso relativo. Em 1987 decidiu que estava na altura de investir numa carreira a solo e lançou o álbum Faith, que foi muito bem recebido pelo público. Para além da faixa que dá nome ao álbum, Father Figure, One More Try e Kissing a Fool, tornaram-no famoso por todo o mundo.

Três anos mais tarde lança Listen Without Prejudice, um disco muito mais pessoal e com menos apego comercial. O hit Freedom’90, cujo videoclip conta com a participação de algumas modelos, torna-se numa das suas canções mais famosas.

Older, de 1996, conta com temas mais melódicos como Jesus to a Child, o que agradou aos fãs. Dois anos depois sai a colectânea Ladies & Gentlemen: The Best of George Michael.
